Fan Interview: Swansea City

Southampton make the trip to South Wales on Saturday as they face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking to extend their current unbeaten run which stands at five matches (three wins and two draws). It will be a fascinating but tough game for the Saints as they haven’t won in Swansea since 1962, when both clubs when in the old Division Two.

Jason Adds the Punch to the Squad

It has been a rollercoaster ride for Jason Puncheon during his Southampton career. It was a possibility that Saints fans would never see him play in the famous red and white stripes again, after his controversial outburst at executive chairman, Nicola Cortese, on the social media site, Twitter. Since his reprieve by Cortese back in January, Puncheon has certainly repaid the Italian and manager Nigel Adkins for his performances so far this season.

Saints Come Out On Top In El Sackico

Southampton secured their first away points of the season with a 3-1 win at fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers. The Saints took a deserving lead through Rickie Lambert heading into an empty net before Jason Puncheon’s curling effort doubled the visitors’ lead on the stroke of half-time. Summer signing Junior Hoillet pulled a goal back for QPR just after the interval. However, Nigel Adkins men finally killed the game off late on when Morgan Schneiderlin’s cross caused defender Anton Ferdinand to turn the ball into his own net.

Puncheon Apologises For Twitter Rant

Southampton midfielder Jason Puncheon has been given a second bite of the dust at the club after a disciplinary meeting with chairman Nicola Cortese. The 25-year-old publicly criticised Cortese on the social networking site Twitter to establish his views on his current situation at the club. Since then, the slate has been wiped clean between the pair and Puncheon vows to get the Saints back to the Premier League. “When I signed here I said that within the three-and-a-half years on my contract that I wanted to get this club promoted to the Premier League. That has always been the case and I will do everything I can to make that happen this season.”
